South Durras Boat Ramp - ORIGINAL SOLD
Acrylic on art board
Original Size - 8 x 10 inches or 20 x 25cm
When your best friend asks you to paint a special memory for her dad's 80th....the pressure to get it right is pretty high!
Now add to that a dodgy old screen grab of a discoloured, blurry pic taken back in the 80s and it doesn't make it any easier!
So with a little creative license and confirmation from her that it was indeed a bowl cut and not a hat she was wearing, I went about trying to get it as close to the real thing as I could.
I'm not a fan of commissions and I usually try to steer clear of painting people, but I really enjoyed painting this one...especially the fine details.
He has now received his gift, recognised where it was right away and loved it! (phew)
